Episode 200: Greatest Hits Volume 4

For four seasons, the Preheated hosts have championed homemade ice cream, so it’s only fitting that they award an honorable mention to Nigella’s No-Churn Salted Caramel Bourbon Ice Cream which Stefin has made “at least 85 times.” Andrea urges coffee lovers to check out Nigella’s similar One-Step No-Churn Coffee Ice Cream, or any of Nigella’s numerous no-churn recipes. After all, it’s always ice cream season!

Stefin’s Greatest Hit: Peanut Butter & Jelly Poke Cake from Episode 142

This “wonder from down under” from Australian food blogger Jess at Sweetest Menu, won over both hosts in New Twists on Old Classics month of September 2019. A variation on a classic poke cake featuring layers of peanut butter cake, jam, and peanut butter frosting, this one-layer cake works for simple or spectacular celebrations. Crucially for Stefin, it is delicious when eaten cold!

Stefin & Andrea’s Dual Greatest Hit: Alexandra Stafford’s No-Knead Peasant Bread from Episode 67

This month of greatest hits would not be complete without the bread that broke the internet and introduced the Preheated hosts to Alexandra’s simple, no-knead method during listener-requested Bread Month of March 2018. The “jumping off point for so much goodness,” this master recipe goes from a glimmer in your eye to fresh hot bread in under three hours. Alexandra’s book Bread Toast Crumbs, features 40 variations on her original bread, as well as numerous main dishes to use up leftovers.

Listener Picks for Greatest Hit Volume 4: Globetrotting Gourmet

From Finland to France, Morocco to India, Stefin has filed more than a dozen foodie reports from around the world over the last four years. Learning about cultures very different from her own through the sights, smells, and tastes of the local cuisine has proved the point Preheated was founded on: Food is our great connector, and the best way to bring people together.

Farewell for Now

After four seasons and 200-plus episodes, Andrea and Stefin have decided to step back and see where life takes them next. Creating and sharing Preheated with a worldwide audience has been a joy, and the hosts thank all their listeners for the encouragement and support they’ve received since the very first episode. It’s not a goodbye, but instead a farewell for now. Thanks for listening, be well, and sweet dreams!
