Andrea’s making incredible progress expanding her GF and dairy-free baking repertoire thanks to Shauna Sever’s Giant Peanut Butter Cookies from Midwest Made and an adaptable fruit crisp from Weeknight Baking, while Stefin’s looking forward to celebrating National Tapioca Pudding Day on July 15. Need a great recipe? Try the duo’s favorite Coconut Tapioca Pudding with Mango Lime Sauce from Episode 72.
Review: No-Churn Fresh Lemon Ice Cream with Candied Sesame Seeds
Both hosts agree Dori Sanders’ No-Churn Fresh Lemon Ice Cream is indeed a “Genius Dessert,” and will be in heavy rotation this summer. Zesty, fresh, creamy and easy — in a dish or in a cone, this was a huge win. The Candied Sesame Seeds, though, had mixed results: Stefin was underwhelmed, while Andrea enjoyed the crunch and visual contrast between the seeds and the pale ice cream.
This Week’s Bake Along: Salted Caramel and Pecan Cheesecake Pots
This week’s “assemble along” is Salted Caramel and Pecan Cheesecake Pots from Olive magazine, which seems like a winner based on title alone. These individually portioned desserts layer a blend of mascarpone, double cream, caramel and lemon over a crushed layer of Hobnob biscuits and toasted pecans. Can’t find the British Hobnobs? Try a crunchy oatmeal cookie instead. Layer along, Listeners, and let us know what you think: Post a picture to Instagram and tag @preheatedpod.
The Iconic Icebox Cake
Finally, the duo share some fun food history about the iconic icebox cake, and the appliances that gave rise to its popularity. Andrea recommends this simple and delicious Easy Icebox Cake from Lena Abraham while Stefin takes Elvis’ advice on banana pudding.

I wonder if you heard this one before: so I use your podcast as support for my running training!! Yes I love baking and I really like listening to your cosy chats. In Holland there’s a better word for it : gezzellig , it’s a very gezzellig podcast. And I hate running cause I find it boring – therefore listening to you keeps me going 🙂 also so many lovely ideas pop-up just listening to you. Thank you both! I won’t mind if you increase to at least 2 episodes per week – would help my condition too :)))
Gezzelling is new to us, so glad it’s working out for you!
