We’ve heard you, Listeners, and know you’re counting on us to keep the baking conversation going strong, even in uncertain times. So that’s what we intend to do. In addition to our weekly episodes, check out the new resource on our website Quarantine Baking for answers to some of our most-received questions about substitutions, ingredients, and relevant recipes.
Andrea and Stefin open the show with many fond memories of Girl Scout cookies, and their latest discovery, The Lemon-Ups. Thanks to Listener Josh for recommending the Roaring ’20s month along with the suggestion of a Girl Scout Cookie copycat recipe.
Bake Along: Samoa Cookie Bars from Life, Love and Sugar
Since Andrea and her family both love the famous Girl Scout Samoa cookie, she’s ready to run right out and start baking these copycat Samoa Bars. Coconut, caramel, and chocolate…what’s not to like? Stefin’s excited about trying these bars since she can’t get her hands on Girl Scout Cookies in the United Kingdom. She’ll have to substitute canned caramel for Kraft caramels and is hoping this substitution will turn out well. Bake along and post your pics!
Favorite Bakes from the Listeners
After putting a call out to the Listeners for favorite bakes from mothers, grandmothers, aunts, step-moms, mothers-in-law, the hosts were flooded with fun suggestions and fond memories. From gingerbread cookies to apple pies to Christmas Rocks and Martha Washington candy, this walk down memory lane was both inspirational and educational. Thanks to the Listeners who shared their favorites along with recipes and for paying tribute to all of the important women in your life.
