The show starts with Andrea reviewing her epic New Orleans food trip, where she was always either “eating, talking about what I just ate, or planning my next meal.” Here’s her birthday dessert, the amazing maple crème brûlée bread pudding.
Stefin gives an update on the progress of her homemade eggnog, which is currently in the fridge and fermenting happily away. If you haven’t started yet, never fear! You still have time to get your ingredients and make a great homemade eggnog that will wow your friends and family.
Cake month continues and Stefin and Andrea review the Cranberry Upside Down Cake, from Elise Bauer at SimplyRecipes.com. Both agree it was a huge success! Andrea highly recommends a slice for breakfast, in fact. Stefin shares a nice tip and lets us know you can save zested fruit in your freezer. Both Stefin and Andrea think this recipe would be a beautiful addition to your holiday table.
Look how nicely this cake turned out for them both!
Stefin shared a memorable baking fail that happened just this week, when she forgot the baking powder in her breakfast muffins. Luckily, her children ate the hockey pucks muffins without complaint. Andrea shared her epic Thanksgiving baking fail when she dropped a hot pecan pie in the oven and spent several hours cleaning before popping a turkey into the oven for a household of family and friends. Ah, the sweet smell of burnt sugar…
Listeners, what’s on your Thanksgiving dessert buffet? Stefin is thinking about a green tomato mincemeat pie, while Andrea is contemplating Pumpkin Italian Semifreddo.
Andrea and Stefin announce next week’s challenge – a chocolate snack cake! We’d love to have you bake along with us. Stay tuned for the recipe. In the meantime, tell us, what do you think makes a snack cake different from a regular cake?

I love the back and forth banter between these two friends. And I also like that they don’t mind revealing their mistakes.Shades of Julia Child’s !!
Glad you like it so far, Betty!
